The Benevolent Action Committee held the first Community Dinner back in 2011. At that time we began with 1 dinner per month and then increased to two dinners per month which the BAC has maintained over the last 3 program years. Unfortunately this past year or so has been a challenge getting enough volunteers to support two dinners per month and we reluctantly reduced the dinners down to 1 per month for the 2016-2017 program year. We are grateful to see that the number of volunteers has significantly increased this year and we hope at some point to be able to add additional dinners if/when possible. During the Holiday’s in Nov., Dec. & April, we try to make the meals a little extra special for our guests. It has become a tradition to hand out items such as socks, hats, gloves/mittens and/or scarves to our guests in December as a gift to those who attend the dinners.
